About PDF Split

Extract custom page ranges such as '1-3, 5, 8-10', or create one PDF per page. Each range becomes a separate download. Page content is copied without rendering it into an image, preserving existing selectable text. Files up to 50MB are accepted; large documents can still exceed your device's available memory. Encrypted PDFs are rejected because this tool cannot decrypt them. Document-level bookmarks, interactive forms, and digital signatures may not be preserved. Everything runs in your browser and your original PDF is unchanged.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — splitting happens entirely in your browser using the pdf-lib library. Your file never leaves your device.

Use a comma-separated list like "1-3, 5, 8-10" — each entry becomes its own downloaded PDF. A single number extracts just that page.

Yes — click "Split Every Page" to download one PDF per page without typing any ranges.

Page content is copied without rasterizing or recompressing it. Document-level features such as forms, bookmarks, and signatures may not be preserved.

Encrypted PDFs often can't be read correctly in the browser and will show an error when uploaded. Remove the password first using a PDF editor, then split.

Up to 50MB. Larger files risk running out of memory in the browser tab.

Some PDFs use encryption for printing or editing restrictions even when no open password is required. This tool rejects encrypted files rather than risking unreadable copied content. Export an unencrypted copy from your PDF editor first.
