About PDF Watermark
A watermark text such as DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL or a client name can be stamped across every page of a PDF without opening an editor. Type up to 80 characters and the tool places that text diagonally at a 35 degree angle in the center of each page, in grey Helvetica at about 22 percent opacity, so the page underneath stays readable. The font size is chosen per page: it is capped at 48 points and shrinks automatically when the text would take up more than roughly 80 percent of the page's shorter side, so a long phrase still fits on a small page. Positioning follows each page's visible area and existing rotation, so landscape and rotated pages get a correctly aligned mark. Only Latin letters, numbers and punctuation are supported, because the built-in Helvetica font cannot draw other scripts; the tool shows an error if the text contains characters it cannot encode. The mark is applied to all pages and there are no options for color, size or position. It is a visual label, not copy protection, since the text is added to the page content. Files must be unencrypted, up to 30 MB and 500 pages, and signed documents may lose their signature validity.

The tool uses the standard Helvetica font, which covers Latin letters, numbers and common punctuation only. Characters from other scripts, and many emoji, cannot be drawn, so you get an error asking for Latin text. Text must also be 80 characters or fewer.
Possibly. The text is added as ordinary page content, so a PDF editor can delete or cover it. Treat it as a clear visual label that marks a document as a draft or confidential, not as a security measure.
Yes, all pages in the file receive the same text. There is no page range option. To mark only some pages, split the PDF first, watermark the part you need and merge the files again.
It is processed in your browser and never uploaded. A new PDF is created for download and your original stays unchanged. Marking a digitally signed PDF can invalidate its signature.
