About Image Format Converter

Image Format Converter changes a PNG, JPEG or WebP file into any of those three formats without leaving your browser. Choose a file of up to 25 MB, pick PNG, JPEG or WebP from the Output format menu, and select Create image. PNG is lossless and best for graphics, screenshots and anything with transparency. JPEG gives smaller photos, and WebP is a modern web format that usually compresses well and also supports transparency. For JPEG and WebP a Quality slider appears, running from 10 to 100 percent and starting at 90; PNG has no quality setting. Pixel dimensions stay the same as the original, so only the encoding changes. Transparent areas are kept in PNG and WebP but filled with white in JPEG, which cannot store transparency. The result preview reports the new file size so you can compare it with the original before downloading. The file is saved with your original name plus -utilzilla, and a .jpg, .png or .webp extension. Whether WebP export works depends on your browser, and an error appears if it cannot. HEIC and AVIF are not supported here, so use the HEIC and AVIF converter for those.

Use PNG for lossless graphics and transparency, JPEG for smaller photographs, and WebP for web pages where small files matter. JPEG and WebP are lossy, so lower quality settings shrink the file but remove detail.
