About UUID Generator

This tool generates version 4 UUIDs using your browser's built-in crypto.randomUUID() API (a cryptographically secure, fully random 128-bit value), or version 7 UUIDs — a newer standard (RFC 9562) that embeds a millisecond timestamp in the first bits, making them sortable in creation order while still containing random bits for uniqueness. UUID v7 is increasingly preferred for database primary keys since it avoids the index-fragmentation problems that fully-random v4 keys cause. Choose your version, generate up to 1000 at once, and format the output as uppercase, without dashes, or wrapped in braces to match whatever system you're pasting them into.

Frequently Asked Questions

v4 is fully random. v7 embeds a millisecond-precision timestamp in the leading bits, so UUIDs generated later always sort after ones generated earlier — useful for database primary keys where sort order matters for index performance.

Yes — both versions use crypto.getRandomValues() (the same CSPRNG crypto.randomUUID() relies on) for all non-timestamp bits.

You can generate up to 1000 UUIDs at a time and copy them all at once, one per line.

Some systems and APIs expect UUIDs in a specific format — Windows GUIDs are often wrapped in braces ({...}), while some database columns or URLs prefer the 32-character form with no dashes.
